For Tutors: Log In

How it Works

Help for Parents and Students

Welcome to Prime Tuition. This page is a guide for parents and students looking for a tutor. The entire process is split into 4 simple parts for easy understanding and reference. Should you have any doubts or enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Part 1: Search for Tutors

When you arrive at Primetuition.sg, you can either start searching for tutors on your own or go straight to request for a list of recommended tutors from our coordinator.

  1. If you wish to search for tutors on your own, you may do so by using our search engine. While searching, you can create your own preferred list of tutors by taking note of their Tutor IDs. Next, you can submit the list to us by requesting for tutor online (link to request for tutor form) or calling us.
  2. Alternatively, if you wish to save the time and effort, you can request for a list of recommended tutors from our coordinator instead of searching on your own. (recommended for parents or students who do not know how to choose good tutors)

Next, please move on to part 2 to find out how you can request for a tutor.

Part 2: Make a Request

Phone or Register Online

You have the option of making a request by phone or online:

  1. You can call our service hotline at 6639-9492 to talk to a coordinator. Please understand that due to a potentially high volume of calls, you may not be able to get through on the first call sometimes. In such an event, please try calling again at a later time. We hereby apologise for any inconvenience caused.
  2. An alternative is to request online, which is much easier since you do not have to recite your particulars over the phone.

Your Request

Our coordinator assigned to you will start searching for tutors and contact them for their rates and schedule shortly after we have received your request.

Tutors can also express their interest in your request by indicating interest to us in the Assignments page.

The coordinator will then compile a list of tutors that best fit the requirements before contacting you.

E-mail list of suitable tutors

We will email you a list of suitable tutors when we have gathered enough responses. If your e-mail address is not given, or if you do not reply to our e-mail within 24 hours, we will contact you by phone instead. It is recommended that you provide your e-mail address so that we can efficiently communicate to you the list of suitable tutors.

The e-mail will contain the tutors' rates and schedules and links to their online profile which you can make use of to decide which tutor to engage.

After reviewing the list, you can request for another one or start to shortlist potential candidates.

Request for interview

You can request for a phone interview with any of the tutor in the list. Simply inform our coordinator if you wish to do so.

During the interview, you can assess the tutor's qualifications and experience by asking relevant questions.

When you have finally selected a tutor to hire, you can indicate to us the date and time of the first lesson and we will arrange it for you.

If the chosen tutor has sent us digital copies of his certificates, we will e-mail you the links to view their certificates online so that you can verify the tutor's qualifications.

Part 3: First Lesson

After the first lesson, the coordinator assigned to you will contact you by phone to gather feedbacks and find out whether or not you wish to continue engaging the tutor.

If you wish to change the tutor, you can ask our coordinator for advice. Our coordinator will then recommend the next best tutor to replace. You need not pay for the first lesson if you decide to change the tutor before the second lesson. This first lesson will then be considered as a trial lesson. Note that changing a tutor will not incur any additional charges.

If you cannot make a decision after the first lesson, you can continue for a few more lessons. Note that you only need to pay for the number of hours of lessons attended, this includes the first lesson since it will not be considered a trial lesson anymore.

Part 4: Billing and Payment

At the end of the first two weeks, Prime Tuition will collect from you 50% of the first month's fees as commission for referring a student to the tutor. The other 50% is paid to the tutor at the end of the first month.

Commission applies only for the first month. For subsequent months, all fees will go directly to the tutor.

The coordinator will ask you whether you want to have the invoice sent by email or postal mail. Note that you do not have to pay for the postage fee.

All payment details and instructions will be included in the invoice. Please check carefully the total number of hours of lessons and the amount to pay. Also, please take note of the bill number and our bank account number. If you notice any errors or you have any doubts, please contact us immediately.

After we have received your payment, we will inform you either by email or phone.
